Jean Cockburn retired from her professional career as an academic librarian in 2008 to become a textile artist living on Denman Island, British Columbia. She draws, quilts, embroiders, knits and crochets, makes wearable art, weaves baskets, dyes fabric, and paints watercolours. Her work has been exhibited locally in juried and group shows on Denman Island, in Courtenay, Comox, and Duncan on Vancouver Island, in West Vancouver, and across Canada with the Surface Design Association.

Soupçon block number 7, Part 5 border done

Getting there, this is block #7. Only two more to go after this one.
Here I fussy cut and pieced a whole bunch of 1/2 inch hexagons and I am very proud of myself !

I think the more subdued colouring of this border works with the drama of the polka dot edging in part 4. And the intricacy of all those hexie flowers works because this part 4 border was not made of pieced squares as was the case with previous blocks.
