Another project finished - JM's Venetian Tile birthday quilt

I am doing fairly well with my plan to finish projects before I start new ones. Not that I am going crazy with that resolution, as I have cut out blocks for a new quilt because I am almost finished make the 99 individual 7.25 inch scrap squares for the quilt currently on my design board (more on that project later).

BUT, drum roll, yesterday I finished the hand quilting on JM's 75 birthday quilt, Kaffe Fasset's Venetian Tiles design, slightly modified by reducing the size of the squares. See previous posts, here and here, and here. I embroidered both of our initials, the numbers 75 and 2012 (because that was the year of the significant birthday, and I did finish before the end of January 2013, so ....), then I washed it gently, dried it gently, and ironed it gently. It was soon in good use during the evening news.
