Haiku: Denman Island Spring

Scoters on the sea
Herring spawn on the beach
Gulls frenzied feeding

Big leaf maple blossoms
Hummingbird hovering near
Sudden iridescent flash

Red eyed towhee
Scratching in the leaf litter
Sudden squawking sound

Mist on the mountains
Fresh snow touched by sunshine
A rainbow drops down

Unrestrained apple
Branches reaching to the sky
Pruning overdue

I made pincushions (blue, natch) for my Painless Patchwork workshop students last Sunday morning. This one did not find a home ...
Here is a link to a pincushion tutorial. I filled my pc's with rice.
